HP’s latest line of business-friendly laptops are among the first to feature AMD’s new PRO A-Series processors, and the company says the HP EliteBook 705 G3 series laptops are the only models that will be available with the most powerful AMD PRO A12 processor at launch.
The new HP EliteBook laptops will be available soon for $750 and up, and feature screen sizes ranging from 12.5 inches to 15.6 inches.
There are three different models in the new EliteBook Lineup:
- 2.8 pound EliteBoook 725 G3 with a 12.5 inch display
- 3.4 pound EliteBook 745 G3 with a 14 inch display
- 4.2 pound EliteBook 755 G3 with a 15.6 inch display
Each model is available with a choice of a 1366 x 768 pixel or 1920 x 1080 pixel displays, with an optional touch panel on the 1080p version. The 14 inch model is also available with an optional 2560 x 1440 pixel screen.
Each model measures less than 0.8 inches thick, features a USB Type-C port, DisplayPort, VGA, two USB 3.0 ports, an SDXC card reader, and Ethernet jack as well as a connector for an optional docking station.
Overall, the systems are rather functional looking, but a little slimmer and lighter than your typical business-class notebooks. But in addition to AMD Pro processors, they’re available with other business-friendly features including optional mobile broadband, more ports than you’ll find on many modern laptops, and pointing sticks in the center of the spill-resistant keyboards.
