HP is giving its 14 inch ultrabook line a Windows 8 makeover. The new HP Envy TouchSmart Ultrabook 4 will be available in October for $749 and up.

The biggest update since the Envy 4T was launched a few months ago is that the new model will ship with Windows 8. But if you’re willing to spend a few more bucks, HP also has a range of premium options you can add to this ultrabook.

The laptop features a 14 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display, an Intel Core family processor, and a non-user replaceable battery that HP says should be good for up to 8 hours (so think around 6 hours of real-world usage).

The notebook weighs 4.77 pounds.

HP will offer an optional touchscreen display, an optional backlit keyboard, and a discrete graphics option with an AMD graphics card featuring 2GB of memory.

All configurations come with Beats audio and a raft of HP software including HP COnnected Photo, HP Connected Music, and HP Connected Backup.
