As promised, Menno Dijk has uploaded a series of useful applications for anyone using a “little linux laptop.” These laptops go by many names, including the 3K Razorbook 400, the Skytone Alpha 400, the Bestlink Alpha 400, and the Yinlips Micro PC. But they’re all basically the same device, and if yours is running Linux, odds are you’ve been having a hard time figuring out how to do basic things like pull up a terminal with root access.

The site also has a handful of open source games and utilities including a contact manager and a text editor. While this tiny laptop isn’t exactly going to give the MSI Wind a run for its money in the looks or performance departments, it’s hard to beat the price. You can pick one up for under $200.

  1. I bought one of these and have been having a ball with it. I loaded 3MX Ultra on it and it turned it into a very useful little laptop. Mine had the built in wifi.

  2. I bought a Razorbook 400 for my 8 yr old daughter for Christmas, how do I update the browser, because in January 2010 the browser will be obsolete, it doesnt not have enough memory to use google chrome or the new yahoo, any suggestions- PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. The version of this notebook that Geeks is selling doesn’t seem to include WIFI. They also sell the 2G EEE for $259 … At only $59 difference between the EEE and the Razorbook, I can’t see why anyone would want a dodgy no-name brand laptop with strange architecture to save just a few bucks.

    1. Well you’re comparing a new to a refurb, but a new 2G is still just $299. I was interested until I saw that the specs were missing wifi. I might could live with the other specs as a “hobby” machine to experiment with, but not without wifi built in.
