Indian PC maker HCL has introduces a new netbook called the ME 06. For the most part, it looks like a standard 2008/2009 model mini-laptop, complete with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU and Windows XP Home edition. It has a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive. But the netbook also features 3G capabilities and a SIM card slot, so there’s that.

The HCL ME 06 weighs about 3.5 pounds and measures 10″ x 7.4″ x 1.1″. It has a 6 cell battery which is good for more than 5 hours. In addition to the 3G connectivity option, the netbook can get online using LAN or WiFi connections. It has 3 USB ports, a VGA port, mic and headphone jacks and an SD/MS card slot.

The ME 06 sells for 21,640 Rs, or about $465 US.

  1. Nothing special other than 3G modem. Machine with such specs should not be more than Rs 15000 inclusive of tax and delivery charges.
