Chinese PC maker Hasee may be planning to enter the smartphone space. GizChina reports that Hasee’s first phone could have high-end specs, but an affordable price. It’s expected to sell for around $300.

Unfortunately there’s no word on whether the phone would be available outside of China, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility. A handful of the company’s notebooks have made it to US shores in the past.

According to GizChina, sources at Hasee say the company’s first smartphone could be an Android model with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, a 1920 x 1080 pixel display, 4GB of RAM, a 13Mp rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.

In other words, it would have specs that rival the recently announced LG G2, but it will be priced more like a Google Nexus 4.

Hasee would hardly be the first PC maker to jump into the smartphone space. Lenovo, Acer, Asus, and others have all begun making phones in recent years.
