The HP Elitebook Folio is a 2 pound notebook with a 12.5 inch display, an Intel Core M processor, a fanless design, and an estimated 10 hours of battery life.
It’s coming in March for $999 and up, and HP is targeting it at business customers that want a notebook that’s as sleek as consumer ultrabook.
Sure, it might not have all the ports you’d normally find on a business laptop, but it supports an optional Core M vPro processor and features two USB Type-C Thunderbolt ports which you can use to attach all kinds of accessories including displays, storage, or docking stations.
HP says you can connect up to two external displays using those Thunderbolt ports.
Other features include dedicated Skype for Meetings keys in the Fn row for making and taking calls, four speakers, a CNC aluminum chassis.
HP will offer models with Core M or Core M7 Skylake chips, up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage. The entry-level model feature 1920 x 1080 pixel displays, but HP will also offer an optional 3840 x 2160 pixel display. Note that the higher-resolution display will eat into your battery life a bit.
