Google Now is a service designed to show cards with relevant information when you need it. At first that just meant information from Google’s apps and services such as Maps, News, and Gmail. But earlier this year Google added support for a handful of third-party apps to Google Now for Android.
Now you’ll need a few more hands to count the number of apps: Google has just added support for 70 more Android apps.
Some of those are fitness apps like Jawbone or RunKeeper, others are news apps like Feedly or ABC News, and there are food and dining-related apps including Eat24, Allrecipes, and OpenTable as well as media apps (Spotify, YouTube, and TuneIn), and travel apps (Kayak and Zipcar).
All of these apps are opt-in. You won’t see data unless you have the app installed and you give it permission to show up in Google Now.
If you do grant permission, you could find suggests playlists, a recipe of the day, news updates, and info about upcoming reservations mixed in with your usual sports scores, directions, appointment reminders, shipment tracking details, and other information.
