Google has rolled out a new version of the Google Docs app for Android which lets you vied, edit, and share documents from an Android phone or tablet. The new version adds support for tablets running Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb and up, with a new 3-panel user interface which makes it easier to browse through your document collection.
There’s also a new details panel which shows thumbnail previews of documents as well as information showing who you’ve shared a document with.
Google Docs is the company’s online office suite which lets you create, store, and share text, spreadsheet, and presentation documents using a web browser or mobile app. While the updated app certainly looks a lot better on Honeycomb tablets, early review suggest that it’s still difficult to edit documents using the Android app.
Still, if you’re already a Google Docs users and you’re looking for a way to view your documents on your tablet, you could certainly do worse than the official app.
Google Docs for Android is available as a free download from the Android Market.
