Gigabyte S1081

Gigabyte is launching updated versions of its Intel Atom-based portable computers including its 10 inch Windows slate PC and 10 inch convertible tablet-style netbook.

The new Gigabyte S1081 late has an Intel Atom Cedar Trail chip, a choice of a solid state disk or a 500GB hard drive, HDMI, VGA, USB 3.0, Bluetooth 4.0, and a 1.3MP webcam.

The slate packs a lot more punch than a typical Atom-powered machine, but the processor will still keep it from being a supercomputer.

Gigabyte is also offering an optional multimedia docking station with a DVD drive and built-in stereo speakers and stereo woofer speakers.

For folks that can’t live without a keyboard, Gigabyte is also launching the Gigabyte T1006M convertible tablet notebook. It has a 10 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel capacitive multitouch display and a QWERTY keyboard. You can turn the display and fold it down over the keyboard for use in slate mode or use the T1006M like a typical netbook.

The computer has an Intel Atom Cedar Trail processor, USB 3.0, and a 6 cell battery.
