Spanish device maker Geeksphone offers a few inexpensive phones running Mozilla’s Firefox OS. But the company is working on a new model with higher-end specs and the ability to run both Android and the open source version of Firefox OS, known as Boot 2 Gecko.

Update: It turns out that while the phone will run either OS, it won’t dual-boot them. You’ll have to choose the operating system you want.

Now the company is providing a few more details about it’s new phone, called the Geeksphone Revolution.

The handset is expected to features a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor, a 4.7 inch, 960 x 540 pixel IPS display, an 8MP camera, and a 2000mAh battery. There’ll also be expandable storage, although Geeksphone hasn’t provided specs for the RAM and built-in storage yet.

Geeksphone is expected to launch the Revolution during the first quarter of 2014.

While the phone’s specs aren’t exactly competitive with the latest offerings from Apple, Samsung, HTC, or Motorola, the Geeksphone Revolution might be the most powerful phone designed to run Mozilla’s open source operating system for mobile devices.

Existing phones like the ZTE Open are low-cost devices aimed at developing markets. The ZTE Open, for instance, features a 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A5 processor, a 3.5 inch, 480 x 320 pixel display, 256MB of RAM, 512MB of storage, a 3MP camera, and a microSD card slot. It’s available from eBay for $75.

There is a reference design for a slightly more powerful phone, but even that model has a low-resolution display, just 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, and a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor. Geeksphone also sells a Boot 2 Gecko phone called the Peak with a Snapdragon S4 chip, a 4.3 inch, 960 x 540 pixel display, and an 8MP camera.
