FXI started taking orders for its $199 Cotton Candy mini-PC in February with promises that the little computer would ship in March. That didn’t happen, but Laptop Magazine says FXI will start sending out Cotton Candy devices this month to customers that placed pre-orders.

The company reportedly used the extra time to add a few features including a microUSB port, a tougher plastic case, and support for Android 4.0.

The Cotton Candy is the shape and size of a relatively bulky USB flash drive. But the little computer has a 1.2 GHz Samsung Exynos ARM Cortex-A9 processor, Mali 400 graphics, 1GB of RAM and space for a microSD card slot for storage.

It features 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 and an HDMI port. You can run Android or Linux on the Cotton Candy.

One of the things that makes the computer truly unusual is the USB port on one end of the stick. You can plug the Cotton Candy into a USB port on a PC and it will show up as a USB mass storage device, allowing you to copy files to the mini-PC. The USB port also serves as the power supply for the computer.

Not all customers will see their orders filled right away. Devices will ship first to customers in Norway, where FXI is located. International shipping should start by this summer.
