FluxFlux-Se is a light weight Linux distribution based on PCLinuxOS. The developer has also released custom versions designed to work with Eee PC, MSI Wind, and Acer Aspire One netbooks. The original work was all done in German, but there are English language versions of FluxFlux-Eee and FluxFlux-Wind.

The netbook specific versions of the operating system include support for the Intel Atom processor, low screen resolutions, suspend, resume, and the Fn key items for adjusting the volume and screen brightness. Audio, video, wireless, and Bluetooth should work as well.

FluxFlux-Eee is designed to work with Asus Eee PC 700 and 900 series netbooks including the Eee PC 900 and Eee PC 901. It should also work with the Asus Eee PC 1000H. While I can’t see any reason it wouldn’t work with other models including the Eee PC 1000HE or Eee PC S101, I don’t think it’s been tested on these models. The MSI Wind version is designed to work with the MSI Wind U100 and its many clones.

  1. At the moment the fluxflux-eee-versions are running without problems at the mentioned eeePCs (german and english version available). The big update of PCLinuxOS (about 500 MB) can be done by the user. May be I am able to offer an updated version the next weeks …

fluxflux-se is a german version for other pc’s and note/netbooks (for Wind/Akoya, LG X110, NC10 with special hotkeys integrated) updated to the current state of PCLinuxOS (3 weeks ago).

Another german project is fluxflux-sl, based on Slackware and useable for eeePCs, netbooks, notebooks and other pcs. It is the current project of Manfred Müller and me (https://lin2go.com) and the pre5-version is out now. The version 2009.1 will be released in May 2009.

That is the current state of all fluxflux-project. I am working alone on the eee|se-versions, together with Manfred Müller at the sl-version.

Please give me the time to continue with the development and to fix things …

  2. There is _no_ version of FluxFlux for the Acer Aspire One! The One A110 they are supporting is not the Acer Aspire One, but a netbook from a German company Brunen IT. Please don’t repeat this error, Aspire One users will be disappointed by FluxFlux.
