Samsung Series 3

Samsung is starting to roll out its back-to-school line of laptops. The Samsung Series 3 notebooks represent the company’s mainstream offerings. When we first heard about these new laptops Samsung said they would have screen sizes ranging from 11.6 inches to 15.6 inches, and one of the first models would be the Samsung 350U2B with a 12.1 inch display.

But it turns out that model will actually have a 12.5 inch display.

That makes sense, because honestly, why would you bother releasing a laptop with an 11.6 inch screen and another in the same product family with a 12.1 inch screen?

Anyway, now that the Samsung 350U2B is starting to ship, I checked with Samsung and received confirmation that the laptop will have a 12.5 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display. It features an Intel Core i5-2410M processor, 4GB of DDR3 memory, and a 500GB hard drive.

The laptop has two 1.5W speakers, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, VGA, HDMI and Ethernet jacks and 2 USB ports. It has a 6 cell battery and measures 1.8″ x 7.7″ x 1″ and weighs 3.1 pounds. The computer runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Samsung’s 11.6 inch Series 3 notebook isn’t yet available for purchase, but the 14 and 15.6 inch models are starting to show up at US shops.

The Samsung Series 3 12.5 inch laptop has a suggested retail price of $749.
