deskstandzThe one thing that sets the Gigabyte Booktop apart from other netbooks is the fact that it comes with a docking station/stand that lets you place the netbook on your desk vertically and plug in a keyboard and monitor to use the netbook like a desktop. But you can use pretty much any laptop this way as long as you set it to turn off the display when the screen is closed without going to sleep. Then you can just plug in any USB, VGA, or other peripherals.

And if you want to save a little space on your desk, you can use a universal laptop stand like the one Dekstandz sells for about $30. It’s not a docking station, just a stand. So if you want to a docking station that you can leave your keyboard, monitor, mouse, and other items plugged into, the Deskstandz solution ain’t going to help. But at $30, it’s a lot cheaper than most docking stations. it’s designed to work with any laptop up to 17″. There’s no mention of netbooks, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work with a 9 or 10 inch notebook… you’ll just be left with a little extra space on the ends.
