Dell is adding a new 2-in-1 Windows tablet to its Latitude 7000 Series line of business-class portable computers.

Like the cheaper Latitude 12 5000 Series 2-in-1, the new Dell Latitude 12 700 Series 2-in-1 is a 12.5 inch tablet that features an Intel Core M Skylake processor and which supports at least two different keyboard docks.

But this is a premium model with a few features lacking from the 5000 Series, including support for up to a Core M7 processor, two Thunderbolt 3 (USB 3.1 Type C) ports, and an optional 4K pixel display.

The Dell Latitude 12 5000 Series launches today for $849 and up.

Entry-level specs for this model include a 1920 x 1080 pixel display, 128GB of storage, a Core m3-6Y30 processor, and 4GB of DDR3 1600 MHz RAM.

But you can also opt for:

  • Up to a Core m7-6Y75 processor
  • Up to 8GB of RAM
  • Up to a 3840 x 2160 pixel display
  • Up to 512GB of solid state storage

The tablet features 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, a 30 Whr battery, and a microSDXC card reader. Dell will also offer models with optional mobile broadband features and there’s an optional active pen for writing or drawing.

The Dell Latitude 12 7000 Series tablet measures 11.5″ x 7.6″ x 0.3″ and weighs 1.6 pounds without a keyboard. Add a slim keyboard and you’ve basically got a laptop that measures 0.7 inches thick and which weighs 3.1 pounds.
