Dell is updating its XPS 13 line of thin and light laptops with 13.3 inch displays.

The last exciting update is the addition of a new configuration option for the XPS 13 (9370) clamshell laptop: previously entry-level configurations came with an Intel Core i5-8250U quad-core Kaby Lake Refresh processor. Now there’s a new lower-priced (and lower-performance) option with a Core i3-8130U dual-core Kaby Lake Refresh chip.

Dell hasn’t changed the laptop’s other specs, features, or design. The new Core i3 option should be available starting today, and prices start at $900.

The company is giving its convertible tablet-style Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 a bigger refresh: the thin, light, and fanless laptop will soon be available with a choice of 7th-gen or 8th-gen Intel Core Y-series chips.

The updated Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 (9365) looks just like last year’s model. But now there are four processor options instead of two:

  • Intel Core i5-7Y54 – Up to 3.2 GHz
  • Intel Core i7-7Y75 – Up to 3.6 GHz
  • Intel Core i5-8200Y – Up to 3.6 GHz
  • Intel Core i7-8500Y – Up to 3.9 GHz

The laptop will be available with a choice of 13.3 inch 3200 x 1800 pixel or 1920 x 1080 pixel toucshcreen displays, up to 16GB of LPDDR3-1866 RAM, and up to 1TB of PCIe NVMe solid state storage.

Dell hasn’t changed the phsyical design, so this is still a 2.7 pound laptop that measures 12″ x 7.8″ x 0.5″ and which features a CNC machined aluminum chassis, a carbon fiber composite palm rest, and black or platinum silver color options.

The notebook has a 46Whr battery, a Thunderbolt 3 port, a USB 3.1 Type-C port, a headset jack, and a microSD card reader as well as a backlit keyboard, a precision touchpad, 802.11ac WiFi, and Bluetooth 4.2.

Dell also offers an optional active pen with support for 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity.

The new Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 with Amber Lake processor options should be available starting September 11th for $1000 and up.
