The Dell Vostro A90 netbook is virtually identical to the Dell Inspiron Mini 9. Except it’s painted black from head to toe. But like the Mini 9, the Vostro A90 has an 8.9 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 512MB to 1GB of RAM, up to 16GB of flash storage, 802.11b/g WiFi and optional Bluetooth. It’s available with Ubuntu 8.04 Linux or Windows XP.
But the Vostro A90 is sold by Dell’s business division, and aside from the color, there is one other thing that sets it apart from Dell’s consumer oriented netbooks: Price. When Dell first launched the Vostro A90 in Japan, it was charging the equivalent of $998 for the computer. The price fell to £235, or about $348 when the A90 appeared in Europe.
Now that the A90 is finally available int he US, with a starting price of $349. That’s a bit higher than the $279 starting price for the Inspiron Mini 9. But Dell doesn’t offer an option on its website to change the operating system from Windows XP to Ubuntu. I’m guessing you could shave a few bucks off the price if you place your order over the phone and request a Linux version of the A90.

The spec you listed is the $424 upgraded model. The $349 model only has 512MB of RAM and 8GB of flash. Might want to clarify.
