Dell Streak 7

Dell’s first two Android tablets have been discontinued, but it looks like Dell is still pushing out software updates for the Streak 5. This week an official update was released for the Korean version of the 5 inch tablet, bringing Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread to the device.

You can find a download link and more information at the xda-developers forum.

Unfotunately if you have Dell’s 7 inch tablet, it looks like Dell is done pushing out major software updates. The company posted a note on Twitter confirming that there are no plans for an official Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update.

Interestingly, Dell also confirms that hackers are working on unofficial ICS updates for the tablet and suggests that users might want to keep an eye on DJ_Steve’s work in that area.
