Dell is rolling out a software update for the Dell Streak 10 Pro tablet. It originally shipped with Android 3.1, but now Android 3.2 is available. Unfortunately the tablet is still only available in China.
The Dell Streak 10 Pro has a 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display and a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor. It sells for roughly $465 in China, and while Dell may eventually offer the tablet internationally the company hasn’t made any announcements yet.
Honestly, the Android 3.2 software update isn’t all that exciting. While there are a number of changes under the hood, the biggest new features for consumers is support for tablets with smaller, lower resolution displays. That doesn’t really apply to the Dell Streak 10 Pro.
The update should also help some smartphone apps to do a better job of scale up to the tablet’s high resolution display though.
Dell Streak 10 Pro users in China should be prompted to download the software update. If you don’t get the notification, or if you’ve somehow managed to get your hands on a tablet outside of China you can download the update from Dell’s download page or from the xda-developers forum.
