Let me start off by making something clear: I actually have no idea when Dell is going to announce or make available its new netbook. But since it didn’t happen earlier this week, I figured I’d pass along the latest rumors.

As I mentioned yesterday, a Brazilian blogger I’ve never heard of claims to have the inside scoop, saying that the Dell Inspiron 910 (which may or may not be the netbook’s official name) will be out on August 22nd.

Meanwhile, a Liliputing read from New Zealand says he’s hearing from representatives at Dell that the company will launch the computer in early September. It’s possible that one or both of these people are getting misinformation. Or it’s possible that they’re both right. Maybe the laptop will be released in Brazil before it’s released in New Zealand.

  1. So basically we don’t know anything. 😉
Better than pretending to know something that may or may not be a rumour.

  2. It would really surprise me if Dell launches it’s mini inspiron (or maybe Inspiron 910) first here in Brazil, since we always get computer products months after their official release in Taiwan, USA whatever. But since Dell said these mini-notebooks are primarly thought to development countrys that could be a possibility. Anywa,y the mentioned blog says Dell Brazil will announce it next week.

  3. I wonder if Dell is using some unannounced variant of Atom and is waiting for Intel to make an announcement at IDF. Otherwise Dell could at least announced something about the model the way Lenovo announced its product 1-2 months in advance. Announcing a product will help people in making buying decisions. Right now many people are running out of patience and buying Eee or Wind etc since they have no idea if or when a Dell will be coming out.

    Just speculation though.

  4. you need to get more familiar with your spell check button. Or at least preview your post before you put it up. It might take a second to read over, but it’s worth it. Are you typing this up on an Eee keyboard? because if so, then I’ll accept your errors, because my typing declines rapidly on my 901.

    1. I’m using my HP Mini-Note at the moment, actually. I typically rely on the Firefox spellchecker, but sometimes it lets things slip through the cracks. For example, it thought “wil” was a word and didn’t correct me when I left an L out of “will.” But that’s the only mistake I noticed. Did I make any others? If you’re going to leave a comment pointing out spelling errors, feel free to let me know exactly what needs fixing.
