dell-mini-tv-tunerDell has announced a new USB TV tuner desisnged for the company’s netbook line. Sure, you could technically plug any USB TV Tuner from Hauppauge, AverMedia, or any other company into your netbook and achieve the same results. But the $50 Dell USB Digital TV Tuner is cute, tiny, and designed to match the aesthetics of Dell’s black and silver Inspiron Mini netbooks.

The tuner is designed to pick up free, over-the-air digital broadcasts, and Dell will offer region-specific versions for the US, Europe, China, and Japan to work with the various digital TV broadcast standards around the world.

The tuner is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Dell’s custom version of Ubuntu 8.04 Linux.

  1. This is great for you big city dudes, but for most of us fly-over dwellers it’ll probably just get one station.
