MacBook AirWhile the rest of the computer industry was busy cranking out inexpensive 10 inch netbooks with low power Intel Atom processors, Apple took another approach and launched the MacBook Air — a laptop that’s even lighter than a typical netbook, but which offers a larger, higher resolution display and a much more powerful processor.

Unfortunately at launch the MacBook Air also had a much higher price tag than any netbook, with a starting price of about $999. Now Apple has started selling refurbished last-generation models for $699. You could still get two netbooks for that price, but you get a lot more machine with the MacBook Air, and this is the lowest price I’ve seen to date.
