Microsoft may be planning to phase out its free 1-year trial of Office 365 for new PCs that ship with Windows 10. But there are still plenty of Windows 8.1 computers shipping with the promotion… and some are priced so low that it’s kind of like paying for a 1-year Office 365 subscription and getting a tablet for a few bucks.
Case in point: Today you can buy a 7 inch Windows tablet from TigerDirect for $80. That price includes the tablet, a keyboard, and a subscription to Office 365 which would normally cost $70.
Sure, the tablet’s not a very good one… but if you were going to pay $70 for Office anyway, it’s certainly not a bad device for the extra $10.

Yea, trying to run Windows on a 7″ screen doesn’t appeal to many, trying it on a 1024×600 is doubly bad. Plus it will be a very low quality screen on top of the low resolution and size. And you can now get better cameras on a burner phone if you shop. The final blow is you can’t blow windows off and load something more appropriate because all tablets are locked hard.
wow, that MotoX is a steal. I paid $300 for mine at the end of June. Best phone I’ve ever used (so far)…except for the subpar camera.
I think I can get office for $10 with my student email.
I have office 365, I used the code from my sister’s hp stream and then was able to upgrade from personal to the 5 device plan for $20ish
