Asus is expanding its line of Zenbook UX305 computers. Earlier this year the company launched a low-cost ultrabook with a starting price of $699, an Intel Core M Broadwell processor, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It’s a pretty nice laptop… if you don’t mind having a relatively low-power Broadwell chip.

Looking for something with a little more oomph? There’s a Zenbook UX305LA model on the way. It also has a a full HD screen, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of solid state storage. But it also packs a more powerful Intel Core i5-5200 Broadwell CPU.

Amazon is taking pre-orders for the new model… which is priced at just $50 more than the Core M model.

  1. A full 5200U Broadwell CPU into a fanless chassis? That must be a mistake of some kind IMO.

  2. That UX305LA is really tempting, but I’m trying to hold off on buying a new ultrabook until the Skylake CPUs come out.
