There’s a good chance that Google will introduce its second-generation Nexus 7 tablet next week. It’s been about a year since the original launched, and there are an awful lot of signs pointing to a new model.

But those signs also suggest that the new tablet will sell for $229 and up, so if you’re primarily interest in Google’s tablet is price rather than performance, you might want to take a look at the 2012 model.

Originally introduced at $199 and up (for the now-discontinued 8GB model), you can now pick up a refurbished model with 16GB of storage for as little as $149.
