Amazon’s selling its Echo smart speakers for $10 to $15 off today… but the prices might need to drop even lower than that to make up for the bad press the company has received from an apparent fluke that caused one Echo owner’s device to record a private conversation and send it to a person on their contact list.
Fortunately, Amazon isn’t the only game in town. Best Buy is offering deep discounts on its Insignia Voice speakers with Google Assistant baked in.
And if you’d rather just have a dumb speaker, we’ve got deals on those too: Best Buy is selling a portable Insignia Bluetooth speaker for just $10, and the UE Roll 2 portable speaker is just $46 today, which is one of the best prices I’ve seen. And these speakers won’t listen to a word you say (unless you pair them with a phone and use them to make phone calls).

I’d hold off on the Insignia speakers. I picked up the larger, portable one for $39 a couple weeks ago, when it dropped from $69 to $39 for one day. Since Bestbuy is now partnered with Amazon, anything with Google baked is getting discounted. It will be $39 again soon.
