As expected, Walmart is now selling two new low-cost Android tablets from Hisense. And while they’re selling for the list prices of $99 and $149, respectively, they’re still among the best tablets you can get for those prices, so I figured I’d highlight them one more time.
The $99 tablet is notable mostly for its low price. But the $149 Hisense Sero 7 Pro looks like it’d be a pretty good tablet even if it cost substantially more. It has a 1280 x 800 pixel display, an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core CPU, front and rear cameras, Android 4.2, an HDMI port and microSD card slot, as well as WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC.
Here are some of the day’s best deals on mobile devices.

- Hisense Sero 7″ tablet w/dual-core CPU for $99 – Walmart

I bought one through the magic of massive amounts of overtime at work.
My JXD S7300 “gaming” tablet pretty much fell part on me, and this tablet is in the same price range…with outrageously better specs for the money I’d like to add.
I’m just now finishing the setup and letting it update everything, but so far I’m really impressed with it!
Android seems to be fairly stock, with very few unwanted apps that are easily uninstalled or disabled.
I’ll get some games set up on it and see how it does, but in my experience Tergra 3 has very few problems with anything I’ve thrown at it.
I was going to order it online and pick it up at the store, but I just went down there instead and picked up the last one in the case. Easy peasy.
This thing rocks!
Cameras are so-so, but I don’t use them on a tablet.
Easily just as good as the Nexus 7, but with an SD card slot and more!
My first concern would be battery life, looks like same capacity as samsung galaxy tab 2, followed by the very small internal storage, which thankfully can be supplemented by a card. So this looks like a good deal. So all we need is cyanogenmod!
Looks good – although a GPS (like the Nexus 7 has) would have been nice. I think I would use that more than the rear camera.
it does have a GPS.Look at the box for full specs: https://securecdn.disqus.com/uploads/mediaembed/images/498/1943/original.jpg
It looks great on paper. The specs are there and the price is phenomenal.
The only thing I can see messing with this would be a poorly built OS, which unfortunately is far too common with these low cost units.
The other problem may be support for the same reason.
The bright side is that at such a low cost developers have a better chance of obtaining them, so custom firmware developed by a community is possible too.
I have a feeling these will sell very well, at least at first.
