Asus offers a few different inexpensive laptops with 11.6 inch displays, and while the Asus EeeBook X205 has been getting a lot of attention due to its $199 list price,  some folks might prefer a model with a touchscreen display, twice as much RAM and far more storage… like the Asus X200MA, which typically sells for around $300.

But today Best Buy is selling an Asus X200MA for just $200.

The laptop features an Intel Celeron N2840 Bay Trail processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 500GB hard drive.

  1. The X205TA would have been perfect (lighter and more compact) if it had 4gb of ram and upgradeable storage, but 2gb ram and 32gb soldered on storage is just too limiting.

I just got the x200ma deal at best buy (picked up at the store early in the afternoon), exactly what I was looking for, an under 200$ (was a little over 200 with the california sales tax though 🙁 ), as small as possible, as light as possible, with at least 4g of ram, upgradable with a ssd sometime later, basic computer that I can carry around easily anywhere… thanks ! 🙂

  2. I bought the Asus X200MA last year @ Best Buy for $250. A nice little notebook for the price… plenty of full-sized ports. Warning: the trackpad is horrid. Performance suffers when it applies Windows updates. Other than that, a decent machine IMO…especially at $199.

    1. IMO any trackpad is horrible. Even with my laptop if at all possible I use a mouse, I actually have a wireless mouse that I keep with the laptop in its case for this purpose. The little track-sticks computer manufacturers used to put in the middle of laptop keyboards (Lenovo still does with their ThinkPads) is better but I still prefer a mouse.
