The Asus 1015E is a mini-laptop with a 10 inch display and a 1.1 GHz Intel Celeron 847 dual-core processor. It’s not exactly a powerhouse, but it’s a portable notebook that weighs less than 3 pounds and which should offer significantly better performance than an Intel Atom-powered netbook.

Asus started offering the 1015E last month for $299. But now it’s available for $50 less, making it not only one of the smallest notebooks around, but also one of the cheapest.

  1. The ASUS 1015E-DS01 is also sold by Amazon for $262.10 with free shipping. HDMI, USB 3.0, 6-cell battery good for 7 hours. Looks like they finally got it right, at least for people who can work around the issues with Windows 8.

    1. The B&H deal is also with free US Shipping and 6 cell battery… though the pricing is a sale that’ll end Jun 30, normal price is $289…

      1. Amazon jacked the price back up to $299 a hour or two after I posted. I saw that Microcenter also sells it for $249 but I didn’t check on the shipping.
