Dell is one of the few companies that offers a Chromebook with an Intel Core i3 processor. The Dell Chromebook 11 with a Core i3 Haswell chip normally sells for $379 which makes the system more expensive than most Chromebooks… but a lot cheaper than a Chromebook Pixel.

But right now you can pick up a refurbished model for just $290 from Woot. Don’t need the Core i3 chip? Woot has some great deals on other Chrome OS laptops as well.

  1. This may be a stupid question but if all you are basically running on a Chromebook is a web browser, why would you need an i3 processor?

    1. Try one and see the difference, especially a 4GB model. This is the same reason people drive sport cars when a Honda Civic would do. It’s zero-to-whatever is considerably faster without sacrificing battery performance. Price-point isn’t the only reason people choose Chromebooks. Some people enjoy the performance benefits of using a light-weight OS on modern CPU’s. Hell, I’d use an i7 Chromebox if they where more affordable.
