With the new iPad available for order, prices for older iPads are dropping. Apple is selling refurbished iPad 2 models for as little as $349, and CowBoom is offering deals on refurbished and pre-owned iPads for even less.
Meanwhile, you can find plenty of Android tablets for far less money — especially if you’re willing to settle for an older model like the ViewSonic ViewPad 10s or Huawei IDEOS S7 Slim.
Here are some of today’s best deals… with a heavy emphasis on devices that have been around the block a time or two.
- ViewSonic ViewPad 10S Android 2.2 tablet w/10.1″ display, Tegra 2 for $230 – TigerDirect
- Pre-owned iPads for $260 and up – CowBoom
- Huawei IDEOS S7 Slim 7″ Android 2.2 tablet for $150 – Expansys
- Coby Kyros MID7012 7″ Android 2.3 tablet for $80 – MacMall (via eBay)
- Refurb HP Mini 110 netbook w/Atom N270, Win 7 Starter for $199 – All4Cellular (via eBay)
- ADATA 32GB Class 4 microSDHC card w/adapter for $26 – TigerDirect

Bought a 16G AT+T 3G iPad 2 open box at BestBuy yesterday for $345. Â They offered me an open box 16G Wifi for $319.
Put a fork in Android tablets at these prices.
The Cowboom iPad 1 at $299 is no bargain. For $50 more ($349), you can get an Apple factory refurbished iPad 2.Â
The gen 1 refurbished iPads (if they are being refurbished by reputable sources like Apple) need to be $199, where they will be very competitive with the Kindle Fire.
Cowboom, being a part of Best Buy, doesn’t really have good deals for the most part. I haven’t bought from Best Buy in years.
The Expansys listing for the Huawei IDEOS S7 says it’s WiFi only, so I don’t know how the device can be unlocked, unless these units have GSM radios included.Â
That’s odd… I found that listing from Dealnews, who described it as unlocked. I should have double checked though.
Thanks for pointing this out. I’ve updated the post.Â
