Sony is one of the only companies currently offering “Compact” or mini versions of their most powerful smartphones that have most of the same features as their big siblings.
For example, the Sony Xperia Z5 is a phone with a 5.2 inch display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, and a 23MP camera. The Xperia Z5 compact has most of those same features… but a smaller 4.6 inch screen.
It also has a smaller battery, less RAM, and a 720p display rather than a 1080p version, but hey, nobody’s perfect.
Sony began selling the phones in the US this month, and they’re already on sale for $50 off the list price, which means you can pick up the Compact edition for $450Â or the larger version for $540.
