NVIDIA’s Shield handheld gaming console is sort of what you’d get if you took a smartphone screen and slapped it on top of an Xbox controller. But it’s also one of the most powerful handheld gaming systems around thanks to an NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor and support for NVIDIA’s GRID streaming system which lets you stream PC games from your PC… and which may soon support streaming games over the internet from NVIDIA’s servers.
Normally the Shield sells for $299, but NVIDIA is running a sale right now that lets you pick one up for $50 off. It’s available at that price from several retailers, but if you buy straight from the NVIDIA Store you also get a few free games and a free t-shirt.
