The original Microsoft Surface may not have the fastest processor or the best screen of any tablet on the market, and its Windows RT software may not be as versatile as Windows 8.1. But at $349, it is a relatively inexpensive way to get your hands on a fully licensed copy of Microsoft Office 2013 and a 10 inch tablet that can run it (and which you can also use to play games, surf the web, and watch videos).
It’s even cheaper if you’re cool with buying refurbished products. Microsoft is selling refurbished models for $254.
Here are some of the day’s best deals.

I have really debated about getting a surface RT for my wife. Does anyone know if the printer drivers in Windows 8.1 are shared between the Pro and RT versions? Brother’s manufacturer website says my printer is Windows 8.1 compatible.
As far as I know all the peripherals work very well with RT.
Confirm with Microsoft support staff before purchasing.
Microsoft sales said Surface RT was not upgradable to Windows 8.1; we all know that is not true. Found out my printer is compatible with both versions. https://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public_s/id/os/windows_rt.html
