There was a time when Zotac’s line of tiny desktop computers shipped without an operating system. While you can still pick up a barebones model, there are now a handful of models that come preloaded with Windows 8.1 with Bing software… and they don’t cost much more than the barebones versions.

Right now Newegg is offering a particularly good price on the ZBOX BI320. You can pick up a model with Windows 8.1 with Bing, a Celeron Haswell CPU, 2GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage for just $160.

That’s just $47 more than a barebones model which has no storage, memory, or OS.

The xbox bi320 is like a chromebox that has windows installed… same hardware, same price-point. I have not seen a laptop equivalent of this (windows chromebook with a haswell celeron at the $250 pricepoint). Just an observation.

  Do you mean…a general purpose PC? 🙂
  You can install Chrome OS on this if you want, the bootloader is open. Good luck trying to install Windows on a chromebook or chromebox though…
