The Asus VivoTab 8 is a Windows tablet with an 8 inch display, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. It has an Intel Atom Z3745 Bay Trail processor and comes with a 1-year subscription to Microsoft Office 365 Personal.
It’s basically the same tablet as the VivoTab Note 8 that launched in 2013, but it lacks the active digitizer and digital pen that comes with the Note 8.
Still, this $199 tablet is more powerful than most of the low-cost Windows tablets launched in the past few months thanks to a slightly better processor and larger amounts of memory and storage.
And right now you can pick one up for $149.

Gosh I forgot about MicroCenter now shipping. Doesn’t impact me, however, as I live 3 miles from a store. But for others, it’s now kind of a ‘no-brainer’. At least in my judgement, the TW801 is a better buy. I’ve had mine now for 3 or 4 months, and use it heavily everyday. It’s never let me down in any way. Splendid for my needs.
Still not as good as MicroCenter’s TW801 for $ 119.00. The TW801 has an HDMI out, the ability to charge and use a USB device at the same time, and it has a capacitive Windows button. Finally it has a full sized USB 3.0, and not a USB 2.0 micro.
Thanks for posting this :)) I lost track of the TW801 back when it was still $139.99, I had no idea they dropped it to $119.99.
And the biggest news by far, is the fact that they now ship the dammed things, as opposed to the dreaded “in store pick-up only” shtick, that they used to do.
