Amazon Prime membership grants subscribers access to free 2-day shipping on many items, access to online streaming of music, movies, and TV shows, and a range of other perks that makes it kind of unlike any other rewards or online media service around.
Normally Amazon charges $99 per year for a Prime membership. But today only you can snag a membership for $72. The deal is good for new members, but existing subscribers can also get in on the action through a kind of funky loophole.
As Gizmodo notes, you can buy a gift subscription and send it to yourself. Then cancel automatic renewal on your subscription and when it comes time to renew, use your gift membership to save $27.
