The Amazon Fire HD 8 is one of the best tablets you can get for $80… and it’s an even better bargain at $50, which is how much Amazon is selling the tablet for today.
That price gets you a tablet with an 8 inch, 1280 x 800 pixel display, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a quad-core processor, a microSD card slot, front and rear cameras, up to 12 hours of battery life, and Amazon’s Fire OS software.
It’s also a relatively hackable tablet that you can tweak to run the Google Play Store and other software not available through Amazon’s Appstore.
Note that Amazon’s $50 price is for a model with “special offers” including ads on the lock screen. You can pay a bit extra to remove them. There’s also an option to spend $80 and up if you’d prefer a tablet with 32GB of built-in storage.

these tablets only last about 6 months and then they brick . amazon deliberately does this so you have to buy a new one. this is also why the warranty is only 60 days
My gen1 kindle fire still works fine.
Don’t get the 32gb version of the Fire tablet. Buy the $50 one and then spend $30 on a 64gb micro sd card and end up with 80gb storage for the same money. You can easily offload apps, store music and video files on the sd card.
The Moto G5 Plus is a very nice phone–particularly for the price. It is very responsive, but lacks NFC and a removable battery, but other than that is all most people need. Excellent battery life–much better than what you’d get out of a flagship device.
