Sony’s MDR-V6 studio monitor-style headphones are comfortable to wear for an extended period, offer a fairly neutral tone, and are nearly identical to the Sony MDR-7506 headphones that are pretty widely used by radio journalists and producers. I’ve got a pair of each and I can’t really tell the differences.

Prices usually range from around $80 to $100 for these Sony headphones. But right now BuyDig is running an unusual deal: you can pick up both a pair of Sony MDR-V6 headphones and a Google Home Mini smart speaker for $79 when you use the coupon code TQT12 at checkout.

  1. I used my MDR-V6 to listen to music at work for over 10 years (one pair the entire time). They sound great, but are very bulky. I’m on bluetooth now.

    1. MDR-V6 dates back to at least the early 1980s (my pair lasted more than 20 years). Great headphones, though not the best.
