Movies Anywhere is a platform that allows you to buy a digital movie once and watch it across multiple platforms. For example if you have Google Play, iTunes, Vudu, and Amazon Prime Video accounts you can buy a video from Google Play and watch it on an Apple TV, iPhone, or Amazon Fire device since it’ll also show up in  your Amazon and Apple accounts.

This week Microsoft joined the party, which will allow you to watch your purchased videos on a PC or Xbox using the Microsoft Movies & TV app.

You do need to link your Microsoft account to Movies Anywhere in order for that to work. But once you do, Microsoft will give you a free video that you can watch on all supported platforms: X-Men: Days of Future Past.
