Solid state drives have gotten a lot cheaper in recent years, and you can now often find super-speedy PCIe NVMe drives in relatively affordable notebooks.

Portable SSD prices have also been dropping — right now you can pick up a 500GB portable SSD for around $90 or a 1TB version for $167.

But you know what’s even cheaper? Hard drives. If you don’t care if your backup device is slower and less durable than an SSD, you can pick up a Seagate  5TB portable hard drive from Staples for just $80 when you use the coupon 74883 at checkout.

Here are some of the day’s best deals.

  1. Staples let me go through the entire checkout process before telling me the 5TB seagate harddrive for $80 was out of stock. Curious if anyone else has better luck.
