The Asus ROG Ally X handheld gaming PC is available for pre-order for $800 and it will begin shipping in July. With a bigger battery, more memory and storage, and an updated design, it’s a noticeable upgrade over the original ROG Ally… but it has the same processor and display so it’s not that big an upgrade over the original model that typically sells for $700.

And that means that if you’re looking to save a few bucks on a high-performance handheld gaming PC, today’s a pretty good day to do it, because Best Buy is selling the original ROG Ally with a Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor for $550. That’s the lowest price to date for any handheld with that processor, as far as I’m aware.
