Amazon’s Fire tablets are some of the best cheap tablets around, with prices typically starting at $50. While their Fire OS software isn’t to everyone’s liking, the tablets have proven fairly hackable — you may be able to install the Google Play Store and/or root your tablet.
Fire tablets make decent devices for watching videos, reading eBooks, or playing casual games… but they’re arguably a better deal if you’re an Amazon Prime member, since you can stream content from Amazon Prime Video and Prime Music for free, borrow books from the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library, and more.
And right now Amazon is offering deep discounts for Prime Members — you can pick up an Amazon Fire 7 for $35 (which is $15 off), a Fire HD 8 for $50 ($30 off) or a Fire HD 10 for $100 ($50 off).
Here are some of the day’s best deals.

I have a Fire 7 and a Fire 8. The Fire 8 is well worth a few more bucks for a better screen, more storage and stereo speakers. I hardly ever use the Fire 7 anymore, since I got the Fire 8. The only problem I have with Fire tablets is moving apps to the SD card. You can do it, but sometimes the apps don’t run correctly. Moving them back to internal storage fixes the problem.
Just a head’s up on that Compute Stick with Ubuntu 14.04. 14.04 will only be supported until April 2019. Better verify that there is enough room to upgrade to 16.04 or 18.04 before you buy.
The last time I was in CostCo they offered the same Surface Go package for $400!
Best Buy is taking $50 additionally on iPad minis, among other things, for anyone with a My Best Buy account. Logged in and my price on the mini is $299.
I’m weeping buckets. I bought the Pixel 2 XL last year for $950. Well, at least I’m not under contract.
