Amazon’s entire line of Fire tablets is on sale this week, with discounts ranging from $10 off the starting price of the entry-level Fire 7 tablet to $30 off the price of a Fire HD 10.

I still think the best value is probably Amazon’s Fire HD 8, which has a higher-resolution display, a faster processor, and more RAM than Amazon’s entry-level tablet, at a price that’s not a lot higher.

Normally the Fire HD 8 sells for $80 and up. Today you can snag one for $60. And don’t forget — if you’re not satisfied with Amazon’s appstore, it’s not that hard to install Google Play.

Here are some of the day’s best deals.

  1. I agree. The Fire HD 8 is much better than the Fire 7 for only $20 more. I own both. The HD 8 has longer battery live, a bigger higher resolution screen, more storage and stereo sound. I hardly use my Fire 7 now that I have the HD 8. But the Fire 7 isn’t bad, and much better than most other $50 Android tablets out there. The Amazon App Store doesn’t have as many cool games as Google Play or the Apple App Store. That’s ok with me, because I purposely didn’t install any games on my HD 8, so the kids would leave it alone.

  2. Nice deals on the lower end Fire tablets, but the performance and screen quality differences between the 8 and 10 are significant. For those who don’t need one now, it might be worth waiting for the eventual $100 or less sale on the 10 that is sure to come around near Black Friday / CyberMonday.
