Dell’s XPS 13 thin and light laptop is now available with a choice of 10th-gen Intel “Comet Lake” processors. But they’re not cheap — a model with a Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage will set you back $1100.

But you know what happens when PC makers release new models with the latest chips? They cut prices on older models to clear out inventory… even if the older computers almost as good in almost every way.

Case in point: Right now Dell is selling an XPS 13 with similar specs for just $850. The only catch? It has year-old, 8th-gen Intel chip rather than a brand new 10th-gen processor.

But it’s $250 cheaper.
