I picked up one of those $20 4k Onn boxes from Walmart a few weeks back. It works fine, but out of the box the video would cut out every 10 to 20 seconds. I fixed it by turning off a couple of the features like HDR, adaptive this and that, etc. I suspect the chip inside is being stretched to its limit. I’m using it with a brand new TV, and I tried swapping the video ports, the video cables, and the power adapters, so I’m pretty sure it’s the box itself with the issue. Just wanted to share so people would be aware of the potential issue.
