The EVOO EV-C-116-1-BK is not a laptop I’d normally recommend. With an Intel Celeron N3350 processor, just 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, it’s probably not a great choice for most tasks.

But it is cheap — right now Walmart is selling the laptop for just $109. It packs an 11.6 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel display, which is rare for a laptop this cheap. And it’spretty portable, weighing just about 2 pounds.

The computer ships with Windows 10 S. It probably gets lousy battery life. Its Intel Celeron N3350 processor isn’t a speed demon. And the keyboard and touchpad don’t look all that great. But it’s really, really cheap.

So maybe it’s not the worst choice in the world if you’re looking for a starter PC for your kid, a cheap machine to take on vacation, or a backup device in case every other computer in your house fails at the same time.

I don’t know. I’m just saying, it’s a Windows laptop for $109.

Or you could spend a bit more on some of the other cheap laptops on sale today.

Here are some of the day’s best deals.

  1. Is it possible to install a flavor of Linux on this, or is the UEFI BIOS locked to Windows only?

  2. 32GB is not enough for Windows 10. Been there done that with Windows 10 Home. Could not install the new releases because there was not sufficient free space. Maybe Windows 10S will fit, but its a big risk.

    1. This is no longer an issue. Starting on update 1903, Windows now reserves 7gb of space for Windows updates. Sure, it sucks having 7gb taken from 32gb, but at least its now impossible to run out of space for updates.

    2. I never had this issue on the compute stick until the day its fan failed. The idea is to keep it lean. Use only light applications that don’t ise a lot of storage. I only installed Firefox, vlc and xnview on mine.

    3. Wasn’t easy to get windows 10 1903 installed on my Dell 11 3000 32gb laptop, but eventually got there after getting rid of everything under the sun. Would not recommend a 32GB Celeron laptop to my worst enemy. They are an exercise in frustration

    4. I’ve an Asus X205TA with 2GB Ram/32GB storage that’s my primary laptop since several years, and never had issues with performance, storage, updating to latest version, etc. I always have a min of 10GB free space, as I keep my personal files in a 64GB micro-sdc. The key is to do a clean install (delete recovery & other partitions).
