Android TV sticks are nifty little devices you can plug into a TV to run Android apps on a big screen. You can stream video from YouTube or Netflix, play video games, or surf the web — but most of those activities require a decent WiFi connection, and unfortunately many Android TV sticks suffer from reception problems.
So it’s always nice to see models with external antennas to boost the signal. One of the latest is the EU Plug CX-919, a mini PC with a Rockchip RK3188 quad-core processor.
Geekbuying is taking pre-orders for the CX-919 for $88.49 and says it will ship by the end of April.
The device features a 1.6 GHz RK3188 ARM Cortex-A9 quad-core processor, ARM Mali 400 graphics, 2GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage.
It runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and features built-in 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. It has an HDMI connector, a microSD card slot, 2 microUSB ports (one is for power), and a full-sized USB port which you can use to plug in a keyboard, mouse, or wireless remote adapter.

I’ve owned and used one of these for a while now in conjunction with a Measy U2C-D mini PC base and it is a stable and capable performer so far.
The cx-919 is being used here as a WiFi hotspot for remote controlling a DLSR camera: https://dslrcontroller.com/guide-wifi_stick.php.
Here’s a quote from the implementor: “Aside from the CX-919, we have used a number of other sticks with varying degrees of success as well. The most common problem is that the stick’s firmware either does not support creating an access point (hotspot), or when it does, it will eventually crash (common Realtek chip issue) and require a restart of the stick.”
I’ll be receiving one of these soon.
This is an interesting and comparatively inexpensive segment to play around with especially if you already have some of the other stuff laying around like keyboards, mice, and/or other various Bluetooth things of the same nature to get the most out of them.
I found QC808 rk3188 Qual-core Android Mini PC. RAM 2GB, ROM 8GB

I really want a headphone audio out option for these…
use usb audio stick
any examples of compatible ones?
These stick computers are getting insanely powerful.
its a smartphone. without the screen
I think it is not only great that it is small but it also has a small price. Since what people use computers for is what this could be used for, it could sell very well; especially at the price mentioned; IMO.
And MINIX just announced their RK3188 product, the X7

External Antenna huh? Yea, I’ll believe that when you crack one open. Most bluetooth devices with “external antennas” on them, the antenna isn’t even hollow.
Is there any good remote for this stick. im thinking one like the one they use on equsio.com
Try using this Mele F10
thanks
I remember when computers had way less power but was difficult to move since they were so heavy. Now one can get a way more powerful computer and can carry it in ones pocket. The price is lower too. 🙂 Sometimes the ‘good ole days’ weren’t so good. 🙂
You can put the CX-919 in your pocket but not the TV set. 🙂
Have you heard of the new invention, Smart Phone? I think That Big Goofy Guy was just generalizing about what we can get these days 🙂
I was. Thank for the clarification. It is appreciated. 🙂
