The Creative ZiiO 7 tablet is now available in some countries with Google Android 2.2 Froyo. When the tablet launched late last year it was shipping with Android 2.1. According to the Creative ZiiO Facebook page, the company will begin offering an Android 2.2 update package in the next week or so.

Google Android 2.2 should also be available for the 10 inch Creative ZiiO 10 tablet in April.

All ZiiO 7 units shipping in europe and Asia are now available with Froyo. There’s no word on when Android 2.2 will be available for American customers, but the tablet is listed as “out of stock” on the Creative US web site.

The Creative Ziio 7 features a 1 GHz ZiiLABS ZMS-08 processor and an 800 x 480 pixel resistive touchscreen display. It supports HD video playback and has an HDMI port for pumping out video to an external display. It also supports high quality audio streaming to a Bluetooth headphones or speakers.

  1. One of the biggest is Flash support, there are other differences as well, with 2.2 being more supportive of tablets (2.1 was mainly for phones)
