It’s not quite the Samsung Galaxy Player, but Cowon’s new D3 Plenue is still an interesting personal media player. With Android 2.1 under the hood, a 3.7 inch 800×480 AMOLED display, 802.11B/G wireless, Bluetooth, accelerometer, storage capacities of 8, 16, and 32GB, and Cowon’s tendency to offer very competitive pricing, the D3 will certainly be an attractive option for a number of consumers. Slashgear also reports that the D3 features an HDMI output and T-DMB TV tuner built-in.

The custom interface looks a bit like a Android/Windows Phone 7 hybrid. Widgets are supported — you can see a calendar and photo gallery in the inset screenshot. The Cowon D3 will also ship with a handful of applications, but likely without access to the Market. It’ll be curious to see how the D3 compares to the Galaxy Player in terms of pricing — the Galaxy, of course, can be pre-ordered for 199 Euros in France.
